New Canaan Connecticut is a beautiful town with mostly higher end single-family homes and condominiums; the market is pricey, but the beautiful tree lined streets, exceptional schools and easy access to trains and highways make it worth every penny.

One of Fairfield County’s more upscale communities, New Canaan captures the essence of a quaint New England town dressed up in designer clothing. It is an affluent area populated with mansions old and new. Even the more moderate homes can present a challenge for many middle class families. However, simple condos and some older single family homes can be found. A spur off of the Metro North Railroad’s New Haven Line takes commuters through Stamford and on into New York City daily. The best part of New Canaan is the delightful downtown area, a pristine promenade of upscale clothiers, antique shops and stylish restaurants. Just north of downtown toward the New York State border are the highly praised exhibits of the New Canaan Historical Society. The New Canaan Nature Center offers 40 plus acres of preserved woodlands ideal for hiking and nature watching.
