Easton is a quiet residential community with a picturesque
town center that harkens back to its original 18th century
roots. Distinctively private and tranquil, the town's
landscape is dotted with scenic farm houses. The countrified
neighborhoods feature a variety of home styles including
early colonials and contemporary designs.
The town's natural beauty is enhanced
by three pristine reservoirs surrounded by over 7500 acres
of wooded forest land. Dairy farms and fruit orchards
give it a delightfully rural atmosphere. Strict zoning
laws limiting parcels of residential property to one or
two acres has enabled Easton to maintain its countrified
character.
The town center features an ancient Congregational
Church that sits high over the intersection marking the
heart of Easton. A brown clap-board building nearby contains
a deli and a post-office. A general store, an antiques
shop and a gas station completes the commercial offerings
in the community's hub.
Easton provides 125 acres of open space
for outdoor activities such as horseback riding and cross-country
skiing. Public and private golf courses are plentiful
as are tennis courts and parks for hiking and picnics.
