East Haven Connecticut is a large suburb of the city of New Haven . The town has three and a half miles of beachfront property all of which is open to the public. The housing market is a diverse mix of single family homes, multifamily homes, condominiums and apartments in varying styles, areas and price ranges.
Originally incorporated as a town in 1785, East Haven now become a large suburb of New Haven. It is primarily a residential community with three and one-half miles of beachfront property on Long Island Sound. The entire beachfront has been designated for recreational use. The town also hosts a number of industrial enterprises providing employment opportunities to local residents.
East Haven residents are proud of their small town and have an active community spirit. A variety of civic groups and social organizations sponsor interesting events and programs to elevate the town’s unique identity.
Real estate opportunities include single and multi-family houses, traditional colonials, ranches and capes. There is also a good inventory of apartment complexes and condominiums. The school system is well established and offers programs for children with learning disabilities.
New Haven also boasts a good deal of history. Black Rock and Nathan Hale Forts are a pair of old military garrisons with components that date back to the Revolutionary and Civil Wars.
