“Home for the Holidays” Photo Challenge Winner – January 2011

This photo was chosen because Darien Sport Shop’s incredible holiday display is the first thing that greets holiday “homecomers” as they exit I95 in Darien. We can just imagine the traveler’s anticipation to see that beautiful tree each year. The photo itself is very dramatic and exposed perfectly – well done!
“Giving Thanks” Photo Challenge Winner – December 2011

Annie sent us this photo of her mother, taken at her sister’s wedding in Bermuda. Annie chose her mother as the subject for the “Giving Thanks” challenge because she is thankful for her mother’s love and support. Our judges liked the juxtaposition of the different layers in this photograph, with a joyful Kay in the foreground, the videographer in the middle and the choir and church in the background. Plus, it’s cool to be grateful for your mom.
“Summer Memories” Photo Challenge Winner – November 2011

In the summertime, we all love a parade! Our judges admired the composition, the youthful exuberance reflected in the joyful faces, the waving flags and the energy of this photograph. It evokes one’s own childhood memories, and it also represents the pride of a parent watching their child’s excitement about marching in a parade.
